I snap food photos when no one is looking *shy* This is just a place to chuck those photos. Photos are mostly uploaded straight from phone. I may or may not, write any commentary because I hate typing on phone. But I will edit from my computer whenever I feel like it =)

Expensive dinner

Expensive dinner deserves larger photo.

We were at Geylang... supposedly wanted to eat the KL Hokkien mee...

But we parked somewhere and walked past this place. The friend with us was telling us about this apparently infamous food critic I-dunno-who-this-angmoh's-name who said this is in his list of "Things to eat before you die" food wtf.

Predictability, someone bought the claim of "Things to eat before you die" food.

I'm quite skeptical of any Asian food recommended by angmoh actually hahah. but then this is crab, something I won't resist lol lol.

So we sat down. It was a dodgy dimly lit place, the kind of place where it is the old-school kopitiam during the day, and a tai-chow place during the night.

This is the star product - crab meehoon

3 of us.
2 big fat crabs.
Cost us $55 per crab + $10 of meehoon for each crab
Total damage = ($55*2)+($10*2) = S$130!

We couldn't finish the dish actually... tapao-ed home lol.
We think it should be a 4-pax portion.

and then we saw the next table ordered this... 田雞with三罐雞精
it's steamed frog meat with 3 bottles of Brand's essence chicken poured on it
when served.
There was 4 frog legs in there... it tasted very salty but the meat was so tender and well, quite nice... $40.

And a plate of vegetables. And drinks.

Our dinner that night was a frekking $190 for 3 pax, in Geylang.

Hawker category. No aircon, no extra services.

Verdict?

yeah, I think it's the kind of "once-in-a-lifetime-is-enough" kinda food.

If given the choice, definitely no next time lah.

Note: Not mentioning name here, so if interested to know, leave a message haha
